Video Poker Technique Question

So I'm using the hand list and it's going OK (tbh, I lost £50 then got a £50 bonus, but that's not the point). Obviously you should hold the strongest hand you have, but if you have a low pair and a high card should you hold the high card too, to increase the chances of a second pair? To be more technical, if you can hold two hands on the chart, should you?

Yes, and if you have a four of kind you should fold them to increase your chances to get a royal flush.

Sarcasm may be hard to understand sometimes. Think that you have a pair and you lock that and then you are dealt one card. This situation is the same that you lock one pair and one a card BUT you have weakened your chances to get three of a kind or four of a kind--> you lose more money.
