Default For the Finnish people: Possibly a new law coming to forbid internet gambling

The Finnish Government is about to update the existing gambling laws to forbid internet gambling. The banks would have to prevent money transfers between Finnish bank accounts and internet casinos.

A workgroup has been set to conduct a research on the matter and prepare the new updated law itself. They should have left a proposal by the end of March.

One of the most stupid propositions ever. But it doesn't matter so much, there's always Neteller and Moneybookers and if they are going to ban these too, then there's Neteller card and foreign banks.

Yeah there is always NT,MB and foreign bank accounts but what I`m more worried about is if casinos and sportsbooks start to ban finnish customers like USA customers.

But I think it`s not very likely that the law is set.

I would say it's a really slim chance for this law to get through. EU has already critisised us strongly for allowing such a gambling monopoly in our country and this would just make it a way worse. They will never allow it to get through. For once there is some benefit of this membership.

I guess they would have to ban some ewallets as well but one thing will remain: you can always open foreign bank accounts. Secondly, no casino will be a part of this and ban Finnish customers for this sole reason. I mean why would they? They would just lose profit. Finnish banks, of course, have no choice but to obey.

Don't lose your good night's sleep over this. At least I can't see this getting through.

That would be ridicilous. I mean that would cripple every finnish person who doesn't own VISA or similar card for buying anything from abroad.

I'm scared that our powerneeding f**ed up governement can do that. At least this is a start. Next Helsingin sanomat and MTV3 starts talk some staff in their news like "millions of taxmoney goes to abroad because of these E-wallets and staff". Maybe a hinch of conspiracy, but at least i have said it.
