    Default Wakke's gambling blog

I have decided to open my gambling blog here. (Fanfars)

I have played poker couple of years and had some success but never really been good player. Most of my earnings have come from bonuses and rakeback. Although I have played poker several years I have been quite lazy learning the game well. I'm also quite bad learning from my mistakes.

This year has been quiet in my poker playing field. I have played more casino games than poker. Now I have deciced to concentrate on improving my Omaha skills.

I'll start from PLO20 and will move up when I think that I have beaten the level. I think I'll try to play at least 10 000 hands. Although I have bankroll to play bigger games than PLO20 it's nice to know how well I can succeed. Also it's a lot cheaper to lose at those stakes because I'm still quite newbie and I make a lot of bad plays.

I'll list some of my leaks right now:

    1) I'm bad at gathering information about my villains.
    2) I like action --> I like to multitable --> Information and concentration problems
    3) I think I may have some kind of continuation bet leak.
    4) I'm too lazy to learn the game well.

I have started my PLO20 games and I'm very glad. I can see that I have an edge at that level. Players seem very bad. Lots of limping in and minibetting. I haven't had this kind of excitement in many months.

Absolute truth until you hit PLO200, where first real regulars are (people who live off from poker).

Good luck! Post hands or even videos if you want to ask something. Plenty of knowledge here.

You didn't mention if you have started from full ring or shorthanded games, but I'll advice to learn shorthanded games from the beginning and remember to play some HU too, because it will help a lot your reading skills in ring games too.

    Thanks.

Mainly I'm going to play 6-max. I'm not going turn my back if table starts to die and there are just me and the other player. So I'll play some HU also.

    And a couple more tips:

    1) Buy Poker Tracker Omaha

    2) Analyze your stats

    3) Start collecting notes on regulars on each level. In micros you should be able to beat regulars too a little, because rake is very high (=if you don't beat regulars, your winrate will not be very high because of high rake%).

    4) Get coaching at some point (not before you have played ~50k+ hands on your own).

    5) Profit!

    1) Yeah I have PT Omaha. I haven't used it yet because it is still unregistered. This thing changes near future.

    2) Yeah I should but I'm so lazy. I like more playing than looking my stats. That's major reason why I'm still playing microgames.

    3) I'm bad at collecting data from players. I have decided to play less tables so that I can concentrate more. Of course PT helps.

    4) Yeah I have thought about couching couple of times. We will see.

    5) I hope I can profit from my games also not just from bonuses and rakeback.

Now I got my PT Omaha and I'm quite satisfied with my statistics. I have played about 4100 hands at PLO20 (6-max). Results have been quite bad about -3 buyins but I think it's mainly because of bad luck (of course there is some very bad plays). For example one day I lost in couple of minutes 3 buyins at same table. Every time the same villain won the pots.

First I had flopped nut straight and villain made a move on turn with top 2 pairs with flush draw. He outdrew and got fullhouse. I was 75% ahead of him. Couple of hands later I got middle set against his top set. There was nothing I could do. Villain played aggressively his draws and there was straight and flush draws on board. Couple of hands later I got top 2 pair with double belly buster against villain's top pair with straight draw. Of course he got straight on turn. I had still 10 outs to outdraw but I didn't.

Yesterday I made a big mistake by laydowning my nut straight. I don't know what I was thinking. I got a pretty good hand 3456ds and I raised pot preflop. Flop came 257 (rainbow) and I got very good flop. Villains checked and I bet pot. SB called. Then Ace came on turn and I got nuts. I bet pot and SB check-called. Then on river board paired and another Ace came. Now SB moved All in. That would have been easy call but I folded. I don't know why. I only have to be 1/5 times right to be in +-0 situation. If he got set he would have gone All in on turn. He could have slowplayed on flop because it was so dry.

Then something about my statistics. I have about 24/14/1.7 (VPIP/PFr/PostFlopAggression). Now I have to pay attention to my post flop aggression. If I remember correctly Winnergambling said on his videos that about 3.3-3.7 is good.

Winnergambling, I don't know did you say but I have privatemessaged you, any advice please.
